As promised, this is one of the many mini-projects I worked on this spring:
I realize its kind of hard to see. I had a heck of a time trying to eliminate the glare, and this angle was the only way I could manage it. I am using my fancy new camera, though. Its a Canon SX30 IS - a great starter camera for those who aren't quite up to the expenditure/skill that DSLR requires.
I wanted to dress up our bare walls with some interesting and personal art. In my search for inspiration in my house, I stumbled across a packet of Picasso postcards (try saying that 10 times fast) that I had purchased while studying abroad in Spain years ago. I like to buy postcards when traveling - they've come in handy as decor on multiple occasions. If you look at these (actually, you'd kind of have to "read" them), they tell the story of a bull fight. I used grosgrain ribbon in between to disguise the edges. The frame is one of the gallery ones from Michael's. I'm pleased with how it came out - its both personal and kind of polished looking at the same time. Who knew? Now if only I could select a complimentary paint color for those sad, sad, builder-white walls...
